SUMMER FEAST 2011

SPOKEN WORDS ZONE

A platform for green authors and artists to express their thoughts, beliefs and what they stand for through poetry and spoken words... Conscious artists, talking about reality, truth, justice, peace, love, emotions, mother earth... Bringing the best and the undiscovered poets and spoken words artists to the Urban Green Fair.

This years Spoken Word Zone will be curated by the excellent T W Rhino Village and hosted by Inspire Open Mic, Donda Mic, Myndz Community and KMT.

There will be a Poetry Slam Jam hosted by Steve Medeema and a space to mark the 20th anniversary of CoolTan Arts, Brixton's vibrant community arts / political squatted centre.

Speakers will include Lee Jasper, Peter Tatchell, Jay Griffiths and Paul Mobbs. And we will of course be touching on the recent riots and what, if anything, they say about our society.
